Emily - TS#5 - Adult

Topic Skills: Reading charts, timed speaking, SPEAK preparation

Tutee feedback: As part of the SPEAK test preparation, we first discussed how to read a chart properly. The chart on the practice exam showed an increase in world population. My tutee and I worked together to distinguish the difference between “rise”, “increase”, and “grow”. Next, we moved on to timed speaking. There were some questions on her practice exam.She started slowly, by reviewing the questions silently first, and then we reviewed them together. After reviewing them a couple of times, and giving her some new vocabulary to use, I timed her speaking. She was able to answer them in half the amount of time that was asked of her from the practice quiz.
