Feedback provided to tutee: In this session, I stared out with asking the tutee how his weekend was. I challenged him to talk about his weekend using full and detailed sentences. The tutee was slow to start in this activity but quickly gained confidence and speed when forming sentences. I then showed my tutee a scene from a "Catch Me if You Can". Before showing the clip, however, we talked about what a con man was and I briefly gave a synopsis of what the movie was about. I had the tutee watch the clip twice and then asked him questions about the scene to check his comprehension. If he did not get a question right we re-watched that portion of the clip and discussed it.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: When my tutee has more confidence in his speech, he speaks with higher pace and usually with little impact to his accuracy. I will try to point this out to him next session.
