Feedback provided to tutee: For this lesson, I gave my tutee a prompt and then let him talk about it for about 15 minutes. During that time I recorded mistakes that he made or sentences that were unclear. We then discussed those mistakes and clarified the sentences which were vague.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Just because a sentence is grammatically correct, doesn't mean that the student is expressing himself correctly. It is important that you make sure you help the student know how to express themselves in the way they intended.
