Feedback provided to tutee: For this session, I played an english song as an extensive listening exercise for my tutee several times while he listened. I then asked him comprehension questions about the song to see if understood the lyrics. There was then time left over in the lesson, so I concluded with telling him a short story about my life at a conversational pace, and then asked him questions about it to check his comprehension.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: If you choose to do a listening activity with a song, it is important to choose a song that has clear lyrics so that the meaning is not obscured.
