Feedback provided to tutee: My tutee had a list of vocabulary words she wanted to review. We went through each word and she would tell me the definition as well as a sentence or two that used that specific word. I think this is a good way to learn new words since she is forced to use them in context. If she did not know a word, I would tell her a sentence that used the word with good context clues, versus allowing her to look up the word on her translator.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that if you give someone enough time they might me able to figure something out on their own, without you providing the answer. When my tutee thought of sentences for the different vocab words, she would take awhile to think of a sentence for some of them. I would give her as much time as she needed, instead of helping since I knew she would figure it out.
