Taylor TS #6

Tutee: Andy
Date/Time: Friday, January 29th, 3:30-4:30pm
Location: Leon County Public Library (Children's Section)
Topic/Skill: Reading
Feedback provided to tutee: I selected books beforehand and had Andy choose which he wanted to read (as whenever he picks a book, it’s too difficult). This was simply more practice of reading, sounding out unfamiliar words, and answering simple comprehension questions at the end.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Andy is still impatient, so even when he figures out a new word, if he sees it again later he’s likely to read it as a different word because he’s trying to read as fast as possible to finish the book. It’s difficult to find books he wants to read because I think he just doesn’t enjoy reading regardless of the book’s subject.
