Topic discussed: Describing Your Country and Culture- We had nine questions related to different cultural facts which we then asked different students from different cultures.
Cultural and/or linguistic topics you and your partner learned: I learned interesting cultural norms from a student from Vietnam and a student from Saudi Arabia. I learned that in Vietnam when you greet another person you nod your head and look at each other. They do not generally hug or shake hands. Also, I learned that in Saudi Arabia a popular food dish is rice, chicken, and lamb. They do not always eat dessert like we do here, and they do not have any alcohol. My partners learned about American cultural norms such as greeting each other by shaking hands and that an important holiday is the Fourth of July.
