I met with Jianmin Ko in the Fine Arts Department ceramics lab since I volunteer there on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
He was very pleasant and friendly. We talked about some of his frustrations in his class and one of his professors. I was able to evaluate his spoken fluency through the small conversation about his professor, and determined that his main problem is confidence. His vocabulary is impressive and he has a great sense of humor. I showed him around the lab and he seemed interested in ceramics. We talked about the process of ceramics and the materials used for the craft. We talked about some sitcoms he was watching over the holidays. It was fun ! He's a night owl just like me.
