Location: CIES building, room 304
Topic/Skill: Introduction/reading & writing prompt. Similar to my experience with Ayah, I introduced myself to Arturo and let him introduce himself to me. I asked him some questions from the sheet and gave him the reading prompt to asses his level/comprehension. I also gave him a short writing prompt because he said he wanted to become better at writing.
Feedback provided
to tutee: There was little feedback this session, I took Arturo's short essay home with me to review and return with feedback. Arturo asked me to prepare a lesson on pronunciation particularly of R's and T's, so I will do this as well.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Arturo has a lot of extra energy, tutoring him may be more difficult. I imagine it will be easier for him to have a few different/changing kinds of tasks to keep him interested. Arturo is very interested in English and excited to be in Tallahassee which is encouraging!
