Cultural and/or linguistic topics you and your partner learned: My conversation partner was kind of shy so our conversation was pretty generic. We talked about living in Tallahassee and the differences we face by moving away from home. We also talked about traveling and family, and how we both like to go see them as often as we can. We discussed different types of foods we like, and restaurants we’ve been to or have always wanted to go to. He also said to me that he feels like the people in Tallahassee don’t speak the proper English like what he is being taught. I told him that a lot of people don’t use proper grammar, and they tend to speak a lot more casually. For our next meeting, we’re going to Target because he’s never been and it’ll be fun to talk to him about all of the different things it sells.
