TS #3 - Adult tutee - Janire

Date/Time: 1/18/2016, 5.00 – 6.00 PM Sturbucks (Tennessee street)
Location: Sturbucks (Tennessee street)
Topic/Skill: introduce each other
Feedback provided to tutee: since this was the first time we met, we introduced each other. When my tutee started speaking, I realized that his English was good and fluent as well. He told me that he is form Corea and is taking the intermediate class. He told me that for him the listening activities are the most difficult ones. So, today we were trying to speak about different topics to practice English. In general, he was able to speak about any topic (such as cultural differences from Corea and the US, food, lifestyle, people, festivities, family relationship, etc.) Overall, he seemed relaxed. For the next class, I will prepare some advanced listening activities containing true/false, multiple choice, etc.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that the tutee has a PhD and wants to go back to Corea. He is in Tallahassee to practice English and then, go back to his hometown. For now, he is applying for jobs to become a professor in Corea and he needs to teach in English. That is why he wants to work a lot in his speaking and listening activities.
