Anne – CP #1
Date/Time: 14 January 2016, 12:00-1:00
Location: Vacant classroom at Hecht House
Topic discussed:
This was a “getting to know you session.” I introduced myself, and my partner talked about herself, her background, and her interest in English, but mostly when prompted by a question. Her spontaneous language was fairly weak, so we kept things simple. Her first language is French, and I speak French, so when she was stuck and could not talk around a word she did not know, we compared the English and the French.

Cultural
and/or linguistic topics you and your partner learned: I learned how to pronounce the
capital of Burkina Faso – Ouagadougou! I
drew a map of the US (well, a rough approximation!), and we talked about different areas of
the country, comparing them to Florida.
