Topic/Skill: Did diagnostics, spelling long i words
Feedback provided to tutee: Hye-in is a very smart girl and did not need much feedback. We worked on her spelling words for her upcoming spelling test, but she pretty much already knew most of them.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: It's definitely important to use the tutee's interests while working on schoolwork because it is much easier to keep them engaged. Also, I noticed that it is important to have material that is neither too easy nor too hard in order to keep the student motivated. Hye-in got bored very easily when we did material that was too easy for her, but got more excited when we read a chapter book out loud that was a little bit above her reading level.
