TS # 4 - kid - Janire

Date/Time: 1/17/2016, 4.30-5.30 PM

Location: Leon County Public Library (kid’s section)

Topic/Skill: Reading & answering questions + calculations

Feedback provided to tutee: As usual, the child read a couple of books and I asked some questions regarding the content. The child generally understands and follows the story well, since it is very basic. At the end of the story I asked her who was the best character of the story, so that she could draw it in her notebook. After that, the child described the character very well.

The second part of the class, she worked on some calculations. This time, I prepared some colorful flashcards so that she could match the calculation (plus, times, minus, etc.) with the correct result. I wrote dotted lines in the numbers, so that she could trace the numbers. She liked the game and her responses were generally correct.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that the child loves reading mystery novels. So, for the next class, I will borrow this type of book.
