Hawk TS #1 PJ

            For my first day with PJ, I observed one of his tutoring session. The lesson started off with him asking the instructor for help with his reading homework. During the reading activity, I noticed that he was a swift information skimmer. Sometimes, however, he would overlook a portion of the text, thinking he found the correct answer. The instructor was good at slowing him down. He explained why his choice was not the correct answer and where he could find the answer in the reading. After finishing PJ’s homework, they watched a video about the Native Americans as a pre-lesson warmup. The instructor explained that PJ likes watching Youtube videos and that it is a good way to familiarize him with a topic before starting a lesson. It also provided a good chance for the instructor and PJ to use vocabulary associated with the topic.
