Hawk TS #4 PJ

          For our fourth session, PJ and I read two separate passages from his textbook about electricity and water. This seemed to be a fun activity for PJ. He seemed very interested in learning how these two naturally occurring forces worked. Before beginning each passage, we reviewed the vocabulary terms from the book and discussed how the book used them in the sample sentences. After, we had a brief conversation about how we use water and electricity in real-life situations. During these times, PJ and I were able to use the vocabulary in even more varied contexts. After reviewing the vocabulary, we began reading the passage out loud. Intermediately, I would ask him to summarize or paraphrase sections from the reading. Oftentimes, he was able to do this very easily. Those times that he couldn’t, however, I redirected him back to the passage. He often found his own mistake or the information he needed the second time.
