Emily - TS#7 - Child

Location: Tutee’s home
Topic/Skill: Comprehension
Overall: The material I provided to my tutee was intended to be a comprehension exercise. I hilighted a few vocabulary words so that we could cover them as we read. Although the tutee is very interested in science (especially when it involves snow and hail - which is what this article was based on), he was more focused on completing his math homework today. Towards the end of the session, I managed to get him to read at least a few pages of the article I provided for him. He comprehended much of the material, but still seemed a bit distracted. We will cover vocabulary words next time, and review the last page we read of the article.
