Date/Time: 2/10/16 @ 5:30-6:30PM

Location: CIES

Topic/Skill: Idioms

Feedback provided to tutee: This tutoring session was very similar to the other session I held with a different tutee. I figured idioms are used a lot in our culture, so I felt it was important to at least introduce them to the tutees that I thought could understand them. I created different idiom cards for this session, since I let my other tutee keep the other set of cards that I made. He didn’t catch on as quickly as my other tutee, so we did the matching with the cards face up twice. He got them pretty quickly the second time, so I knew he was ready for them to be face down. He really enjoyed this game, and I had fun with it also. I explained in further detail the meanings of the ones that he didn’t fully understand. I let him keep the cards for future practice.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that my tutee likes learning new things in the form of games. I’m like this too, and I’m glad he was able to learn these idioms in an enjoyable way.
