Jeff Grab - TS#16

18FEB2016; 12:00 - 1:00
CIES classroom
Foundation level - comprehension

Today was the final tutoring session. I let the students pick what they wanted to work on. They chose an activity that we did a few weeks back.

- Utilizing the United States and world maps, I would ask a questions in relation to a state or country.  For example : What 2 states are north of Florida?" and "what state is above California?"
- Using the above/below, next to questions engaged them so they really had to think about relative location.
- Students used the map compass for directional assistance.
- The students would answer in a complete sentence, "Alabama and Georgia are north of Florida" and "Oregon is above California".
- Session was finished with the most popular problem words to pronounce.
- Lots of laughs and fun during this session. I think these students will do well in their future English studies.
