(Culture Workshop)

Topic discussed: Project for country comparisons, explaining the major features of each country. (actual presentation day)
Cultural and/or linguistic topics you and your partner learned: This was the first time all four of us were together as a group, so it was cool hearing the collective presentation for what each person felt would best represent their country. For Vietnam, this included heavy discussion on refuting Asian stereotypes, as well as inclusion of common dress. For Saudi Arabia, there was mention of the most important people, the popularity of soccer, and common food/activities. This was compared with the sheer diversity of the U.S., where we couldn't pick just one aspect of it to represent because of how varied the country really is.
