Topic/Skill: Prefixes
Feedback provided to tutee: My tutee and I went over some common prefixes, such as anti, non, pre, semi, and fore. Prior to the session I created some flashcards that either had the prefix on it, or what the prefix meant. First I had my tutee look at all of the cards at once and match them. Once he got the definitions right, I wanted to make it a little tougher. I flipped all of the cards face down so he couldn’t see what any of them said. I explained that he needed to flip over one card, and try to find the one that goes with it. This caused him to have to remember the definitions and remember where the cards were. I also gave him examples of words with the prefixes.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I didn’t really learn anything new this session, but my tutee caught on really quick!
