Date/Time: February 4th, Fine Arts
Building, 8.00-9.00 pm
Topic/Skill: Listening
Feedback provided to tutee: The tutor provided me a friends’ episode in Netflix. After watching it, she asked me questions about some American expression, such as, the meaning of “make it Irish”. Also, after discussing the expressions, we went over some comprehensive questions about the episode we watched. After answering those, we were speaking about our ideas about the video.

Overall, the class was good. As feedback, I told her
that when she teaches a class, she can always provide a handout for students. She
can take screenshots of the video of different scenes and tell students to
write a sentence of that event of the handout. Thus, this would be helpful for
them to follow the story, especially for low/advance intermediate students.
What I learned: I knew
that Friends was an American episode. What I learned is some American
expressions such as make it Irish and other colloquial Southern expressions “I
am fixing to”.
