Topic Discussed: We discussed cultural differences in our respective education systems. This was done by breaking up into groups of three people from different backgrounds.
Cultural and/or linguistic topics you and you partner learned: I my group there was a woman from Columbia and a man from Kuwait. One thing I thought was interesting was that both in Columbia and in Kuwait there is a lot of homework assigned in elementary school but very little or none assigned in high school. This was the exact opposite of my experience going to school in America. I also found it interesting that it is common and acceptable for a teacher to help you on an exam if your parents are friends with him/invite him over to dinner.
